Who we are

Enquiry form

The form on this site asks for your name, phone number, email address and an optional message. Depending on the page, it also asks about the job itself, such as the suburb, the work or inspection you need and when you need it. The building enquiry form can take up to four photos and your plans as well.

When you send it, it comes to us as an email with your photos and plans attached or linked. A copy, with your photos and plans, is also kept in an enquiries inbox run for us by the company that looks after this website. Each copy is deleted after two years. Nothing from the form is saved in the system we use to edit the website. We use it to answer you.

The form also checks that the sender is a person and not a bot. If it flags your enquiry by mistake, the company that looks after this website passes it on to us.

Ordering an estimate

Estimates are ordered on our estimate site at estimate.gabuildinggroup.com.au, under our Estimating Services Terms and Conditions. The plans and answers you send there are used to prepare your estimate and are kept confidential under those terms. Payment is taken by Stripe. This website never sees your card details.

What we don't do

• There are no accounts to create on this website.
• There's no mailing list.
• We don't sell, rent or hand your details to anyone for marketing.

Visitor numbers and advertising

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and what they read. It sets cookies in your browser and counts visits without knowing who you are. It only runs on the live site.

When we advertise on Google, Google Ads uses a cookie to tell us when someone who clicked one of our ads goes on to order an estimate. That's how we know which ads work. To opt out of being counted, block cookies in your browser or use Google's opt-out add-on.

The site also sets one cookie of its own. It remembers how you found the site, like a Google search or a link from another site. An enquiry you send carries that with it. It lasts 30 days and holds nothing that identifies you.

When you tap our phone number, the site counts the tap with the page it was on and how you found the site. Nothing about you goes with it.

Who else is involved

• Vercel hosts the site and runs the check for bots. Their servers keep the usual access logs, including IP addresses.
• The words and photos on the site are stored in Sanity, the system we use to edit it. Nothing personal is ever put in there.
• Enquiry emails are delivered by Resend.
• The company that looks after this website keeps a copy of each enquiry and deletes it after two years.
• Google, for the visitor numbers through Analytics and, when we advertise, Google Ads.
• Stripe, for payments on the estimate site.

Seeing it or having it deleted

You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. We'll delete the email in our inbox and the copy in the enquiries inbox, then let you know it's done.

Changes

When the site changes, this page changes with it. If we ever start collecting something we don't collect today, it'll be written here before we do.
